The scholarship provides support, encouragement to budding researchers and scholars of India and is an initiative to offer aid to them to pursue their studies and research either in the UK or USA.
The scholarship has ties to several universities across the globe. One of the prominent sponsors of the Ratan Tata scholarship is the Cornell University, USA. Every year, over 20 selected scholars among Indian students receive this scholarship to pursue their studies from the university’s College of Architecture, College of Engineering, College of Applied Economics and Management, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, biological sciences, physical sciences, and other related sciences.
Eligibility Criteria
Firstly, candidates must check their eligibility before filling the application form for the scholarship. The criteria for the scholarship is as follows:
The candidate must be a valid citizen of India.
The candidate must complete their graduation in any subject. He/she must have confirmed admission in the United States of America or the United Kingdom.
For this scholarship, the candidate needs to show proof of admission in the United States of America or the United Kingdom.
Should be eligible for Need-based financial aid.
Should have an excellent track record.
Application Process
From the session 2015-16, Tata Trust is not accepting application through online mode. Trust is accepting only those applications which are coming through colleges only. To apply for the scholarship first of all you need to submit an error free application, complete with your academic record, study plans, financial and funding documents and a scholarship essay. This essay should reflect your personality and your strengths and list out what and why makes your eligible and suitable for the scholarship.
